Like, don't get me wrong, I fucking hate Windows, but minor UI changes aren't the catastrophe that people make them out to be, people just *hate* change, and they hate it more when they feel like they're being forced into it, and they hate it EVEN MORE when they feel like they're being forced into spending money to make a change they didn't want in the first place.

Honestly it's a good idea to throw a new OS on an old computer periodically just so you can teach yourself to stop having an automatic rage response when encountering a new OS.

You know how you have to get kids to try something like twenty or thirty times in a low-pressure way with lots of encouragement before they decide that it's not poison and it's okay to eat bell peppers or whatever?

That's your brain encountering unfamiliar software. Install Firefox and LibreOffice to give your brain some broccoli and maybe it will calm down.

Adapting to new software is a skill! It is something that you have to practice! If you only practice every 4-7 years when your primary OS provider releases a new operating system you are always going to find the experience stressful and unpleasant and will try to avoid it, which will make the changeover worse when it happens. Seriously, just finding some kind of new software a couple times a year and learning the basics of how it functions is very good for you and you should do it and you should encourage the older adults in your life to do the same.

As we go into the SAG-AFTRA strike and the writers guild strike continues we need to remember that film and television (and the fandoms born from it) can't exist without the writers and the cast.

Fandom exists because of the blood, sweat, and tears of artists, stage hands, and crew members. NOT the executives abusing them.

If you want to enjoy the media through fandom then it is your duty to support the guilds and unions protecting the people making the art we love.

Stand strong. Even when the executives try to use our emotions against us.

Hold the line. Even when they threaten us with delays and cancelations.

Support the art you claim to love. Support the unions.

Sorry I have something to add to this.

Part of the strike is that the writers and actors CANNOT PROMOTE projects on social media. As summer shows premiere (especially highly anticipated ones like Good Omens and What We Do in the Shadows, etc.) Please be respectful of their silence. They CAN'T engage. And studios KNOW that it's going to piss off fans. Don't give in to that. The artists that usually engage with their fans are going to be hurt by the distance. But they need it!! That type of promotion is what studios build franchises on. We need to be ready to respect and support the sag-aftra and wga members through this.

I have no idea if genloss will even be nominated for an Emmy as it is like 5 hours long and idk how many academy members will sit through after they hear “goo goobie”, but it’s very cool that we at least made it onto the list apparently :)

I’ll keep making cool stuff until it happens though! And hopefully it will happen one day!
